The Cobram Courier was established 130 years ago and joined the McPherson Media Group of regional papers in 1988.

The Courier services the twin towns of Cobram and Barooga, along with the nearby towns of Koonoomoo, Katamatite and Strathmerton.

Sport plays a big part in keeping the communities connected and the sport-tragic journalists at the Courier are more than happy to report on all the action. Off the field, the residents of the towns share and celebrate each other’s achievements, show support in difficult times and with collective voices advocate for common goals through the podium of their local paper.

The backbone of the area’s economy is secured by Cobram’s Murray Goulburn and Strathmerton’s Bega Cheese milk processing factories. It is also supported by the number of orchards, wineries and dairy farms that surround Cobram. And as a town on the edge of the Murray River, tourism brings an extra boost during the warmer months.
