Your skills will encompass both hard news and feature writing and you will be able to deal with a variety of topics and writing styles.You will be quick to establish networks and connections and confident in finding your own contacts and sources for the stories. A strong focus and a passion for the people and issues within the community are paramount. Ideally, you will show keen interest in politics, the ability to grasp the intricacies of local institutions and organisations, and a passion for local affairs.We want a good team player who can motivate and inspire others, and who will also challenge the status quo and bring fresh ideas to the table.A degree of experience in photography and video would be highly regarded, and knowledge of court reporting would be an advantage.A valid driver's licence and the ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings and public holidays are essential.
