Reapers Reward might have some attitude, but the Trevor Miles-trained mare is a winner.By Hannah Driscoll

The four-year-old mare, ridden by John Keating, won at her second start in the second race at Swan Hill’s Quambatook Cup meeting, a sprint over 975

The Wayne Nichols-trained Luminny and Kevin Evans’ Destiny Glows finished third and eighth respectively in the same race as Reaper’s Reward at Swan Hill on Sunday, while Undera trainer Belinda Savio’s Rein In The Tiger finished fourth in a 1300

Miles said Reapers Reward had ‘‘a lot of attitude about her’’, but ‘‘you’ve got to be like that to be any good’’.
Tatura and Shepparton Racing Club committee members Mick Toll (president), Barry Kerr (assistant treasurer) and John Wilson (treasurer), and Miles’ daughter, Nicole, are among the mare’s owners and were there to watch her maiden win.
Miles, himself a committee member, was happy with her run after Reapers Reward led all the way from barrier six and finished two lengths clear.
‘‘She just jumped out and ran and led. She’s quite quick. I don’t know how far she’ll go, but she’s quite quick,’’ he said.
