Shepparton Harness Racing Club is hosting a strong eight-race meeting tonight.By Gus Underwood
Last start winners on the track will be looking to repeat those wins at tonight’s trots meeting at Shepparton.
Two of these last start winners, Grand Assassin and Mister Desirable, will clash the first heat of the Equine After Care Pace for C1 Only class pacers.
The Matt Beecroft-trained Grand Assassin has come up with a much friendlier draw than the Geoff Martin-prepared Mister Desirable, who will again be driven by concession reinsman David Moran.
Grand Assassin, to be driven by Steve Lindberg, has drawn barrier three and will probably try to repeat last week’s win on the track when he led throughout to win over 2190
The shorter of trip of 1690
Mister Desirable was also impressive last week and also can’t be discounted, despite his awkward second row draw.
The other winners from last week’s Wangaratta meeting at Shepparton who are lining up again tonight are trotter Doctor Sam and Sword And Pistol.
The Kevin Mark-trained Doctor Sam is in another winnable race from an ideal frontrow draw and looks a good each-way bet again on his career-best form.
The Glenn Freeman-trained Sword And Pistol will be shooting for a hat-trick of wins on the track when he steps out in a the second heat for C2-3 class pacers.
To be driven by David Moran, Sword And Pistol will be hard to beat again over the 2190
