T20 Blast for district students
District primary school students enjoyed a T20 Blast cricket carnival on Moama.
More than 160 district primary school students took to Jack Eddy Oval in Moama on Thursday to compete in the T20 Blast cricket carnival.
The event saw 14 boys teams and 12 girls teams pit their cricketing skills against one another in an attempt to maximise participation in the sport.
Cricket Victoria co-ordinated the event in association with Goulburn Murray Cricket.
Northern Rivers regional cricket manager Damien Dunlop said the standard of cricket was very pleasing.
Echuca Primary School won the boys and girls competitions and represented the district at the regional final in Shepparton yesterday.
Echuca East Primary School’s girls team was also represented yesterday, with the side finishing second after falling short to Euroa Primary School in the grand final.
