First win for Bunnaloo
Moama and Rochester United are the only two teams which remain undefeated in Goulburn Murray Cricket.
Bunnaloo clinched its first win of the Goulburn Murray Cricket A grade season after defeating Stanhope at home by 71 runs on Saturday.
Michael Buckley was the chief destroyer for the home side, taking 3/51 before leaving at lunch for a wedding.
Alec Young (44 not out) and Brad Lowe (36) offered some resistance for the visitors, but ultimately fell short.
■ Moama and Tongala played out a thriller at Tongala Main Oval, with the visitors bowling out the home side in the 62nd over to win by 22 runs.
Tongala was comfortable at 3/130 with Ben Scowen (55) and Adam Nunn (32) doing most of the damage before a collapse saw the home side slump to 6/152.
Ralph Siede took 3/20 and Alistair McCann 2/44 to ensure Moama remained undefeated.
■ Echuca made it two straight wins after crushing Bamawm-Lockington United by 249 runs after dismissing the visitors for 85 in the 50th over.
Off-spinner Rob Hogan was menacing, taking 6/21 from 20 overs, while Brandon Dixon claimed two wickets.
Greg Pearse was the best of the BLU batsmen with 29 and Ben Docking finished unbeaten on 17.
■ Rochester United signalled its premiership credentials with a telling 111-run victory against Fire Brigade at home.
Michael Kent (43) and David Newman (25) put on a 63-run partnership to have the Flames at 4/129, but neat bowling by Jake Perry (3/28) helped inflict a batting collapse which saw the visitors lose 6/10.
It was the former Kyabram and District Cricket Association premier’s first loss of the season.
■ Rochester Tigers claimed the first outright win of the season when it dismissed Cooma for 121 in its second innings to win by an innings and 94 runs.
Tiger Sean Williams took three wickets after not bowling last week, while Adam Ward took three.
Michael Hill was resilient for Cooma with a knock of 63.
