Campaspe squad performs well on the greens

Campaspe Valley Bowls Division’s under 18 development squad recently took on the Bendigo Dragons.

The Campaspe Valley Bowls Division’s under 18 development squad played in the zone play-offs for the Victorian under 18 development squad state championship recently.

The recently-formed Campaspe Cannons side took on Bendigo Dragons.

It was a tough battle for the new team, facing the Dragons, which has been around for a number of years and includes four bowlers who have played at state level.

The match was a big ask for the Cannons as only four of the bowlers play pennant, with the others playing their first game of competitive bowls.

The game was a round robin format, with three teams of two-bowl triples over three games.

In the first game, the side went down by 13, with Sam Events having a win on his rink.

The second round saw the side lose by just one shot, with Ash Vesty registering a win.

Unfortunately, the third round was not as close, Campaspe going down by 28.
