Bowlers awarded veterans badges

Forty CVBD bowlers compete at annual event at Moama Bowling Club.

Campaspe Valley Bowls Division held its annual veterans play-day of bowls at Moama Bowling Club on Monday.

Forty bowlers were in action on the greens, while 18 bowlers received the super veterans badge, presented by Merilyn Rehe and Athol Mills (Bendigo).

On the greens, Barry Barbary skipped the winning team comprising Margaret Tarrant, Max Compton and Phylis Thompson (51 points, +16 shots, 3.3 per cent), ahead of Gwenda Coghill, Aileen Kennedy and Max Bennett (s) (51, +16, 2.8).

Clubs are reminded to forward (faxed) any entries for the CVBD state triples to the City of Echuca Bowls Club before 6pm Saturday.
