Beer takes toll on Cooma

Adrian Beer lit up Echuca College with a blistering D grade innings against Cooma on Saturday.
The Echuca opener belted 13 boundaries and nine sixes on his way to a score of 149, with the team scoring 4/256 from 35 overs.
The man who dismissed him, Paul Viney, also recorded superb figures given the nature of the innings, to claim 1/11 from his seven overs.
In reply, Cooma did well to bat out its overs and finish on 9/93, with Cameron Kervin taking 4/3 and Damian Morgan-Bulled 3/12.

Earlier, Braeden Stokes took 4/21 to help dismiss Girgarre, before Stokes (41 not out), Brendan Densley (47) and Simon Harrison (39) scored the winning runs.

The Blues averaged close to nine runs an over as they scored 3/305 from the 35 overs, with Jeremy Smith (79 not out), Laurie Maguire (76 retired) and Neil Sanders (50) among the runs.
In reply, the Tigers were bowled out for 58, with wickets shared.
Under 16s
In the under 16s, Josh Platt retired on 43 not out as Moama White made 7/161 against Tongala, while Ray Christy took 2/13.

The under 14s played 25-over one-day games after the first day’s play was cancelled due to heat the week before.
Rochester Tigers and Cooma-Girgarre played out a tie after each finished on 56 runs.
Cooma-Girgarre’s Brad Hockey was the highest scorer of the match with 16.
