The Brian Griffin-observed Burnin left all in its wake as the Queensland-based team claimed the 2012 Barrie Beehag Ski Race in a record time of 22 minutes and 53 seconds on Saturday.
Griffin, who lives in Moama, was joined by Forestdale-driver Gary Holzwart and skiers Andrew Griffin and Richard Souwer to win the unlimited inboard/outboard expert class.

Burnin finished 35 seconds ahead of 99 Psycho Clowns, which won superclass after the favourite, Hellrazor, failed to race because of a transmission malfunction at the start of the first leg.
The Leo Welch-driven Mistress finished second in superclass and third overall in 23:28, followed by Elm Street (23:43), Sapphire Racing (23:47) and Omen Racing (24:11).
Moama’s Steven Morley was the observer in Thundernuts, which finished third in the unlimited inboard/outboard expert class.
It was a mixed day for Burnin owner Noel Griffin, whose other boat, Blazen, completed the first leg in 25:31, but did not complete the return leg.
Moama Waters Sports Club president Stephen Robson, who oversaw his first major event, said it was a great day overall.
‘‘It all ran reasonably well and we had a great crowd down at the marina,’’ he said.
‘‘It was a terrific performance by Burnin to win the race and break the record too.’’
About 4000 people watched from the banks of Deep Creek Marina in Moama as 150 boats took to the Murray River in the seventh annual event.
And it was not only Burnin’s impressive drive which rewrote the record books.
Super Slak Racing took out the 8-litre inboard expert class in a record time of 24.36.18, with Echuca’s Andrew Stevenson towing Cameron Mitchell and Dylan Stevenson.
Moama’s Anthony Nott was observer for Evinrude Ace Racing, which finished in a record time of 27.47.02 in the MOC expert, while Ultra Troublemaker broke its record in the 6-litre inboard expert.
Moama skier Tyron Naismith was part of the Chief team which won the under 19 boys/girls expert, while Thunderstorm, The Irrigator and Roughnutz all broke the 70mph expert record.
The only hiccup for the day was a delay in the turnaround in Torrumbarry due to technical difficulties and removing stranded boats.
Entries are open for the Southern 80 in February.
