Triathletes battle the conditions

Gary Norman blitzed the field on the run leg during Echuca-Moama Triathlon Club’s Splash ‘n Dash to win the overall event at Winbi last Wednesday.

Fifty participants found the swim a challenge, with the water level dropping 30cm and swimmers having to battle mud.

Despite that, Steve Gray carved up the swim in 4:07 minutes, with the second fastest time checking in at 4:19 minutes.

Good riding conditions meant Ash Hall clocked an average ride speed of 41.74km/h over the 10km distance.

Others who rode well on the night included Luke Kenna, Bill Cathcart, Ray Hulands, Andrew Mackenzie, Brett Sands, Tristan Gerrish and Craig Sutton.

Echuca-Moama triathletes faced tough conditions.
