Picola league rejects Suns

The Picola League has rejected the application from a newly merged football club to join its competition.

The Samaria Suns’ application to join the Picola District Football Netball League has been rejected.

The league said in a statement that it appreciates the notion that many clubs are eager to join its competition.

The overwhelming demand means the future of football and netball in the area is looking secure.

The Swanpool and Tatong football netball clubs had joined forces earlier this year to form the Samaria Suns.

However, player numbers and travel have been their biggest concern.

While the PDFNL had previously considered the application of the Samaria Suns, the board has decided against its application and thanks the club for its interest.
