Philadelphia won five rubbers to nil to surge to the top of the ladder in the Echuca-Moama squash competition last week.

Rob Fruewirth and Craig Whyte both enjoyed their first wins for the season to complete the 5-0 win.

Lance Muus hit the ball at a cracking pace all over the court, his higher ranked opponent having no answers to his power plays.

Muus achieved a most impressive win, taking the match in only three games, 1-3-28 to 0-0-17.

Mark Fenwick got off to a great start by dominating the centre ‘T’, taking his first game 9-2.

In a see-sawing match he lost the second and fourth games in a quick manner, but managed to win the third and fifth games by controlling the centre of the court, eventually taking the match 1-3-35 to 0-2-27.

Adrian Gale even surprised himself with a big form reversal from last week as he did no wrong, showing blistering pace around the court and hitting the ball from the centre of his racket to win 1-3-27 to 0-0-13.

Other big wins on the night were notched up by Meg Dye (1-3-27 to 0-0-12), Helen Geltch (1-3-27 to 0-0-9) and Zac Dedman (1-3-27 to 0-0-1).
