Moama set to take the points

Moama looks set to take victory when it meets Bamawm-Lockington United on the second day of play in the round 13 Campaspe Cricket Association clash today.

By Chris Cavanagh

Home side BLU posted a barely defendable score last week after winning the toss and electing to bat, managing only 151 all-out.

If not for Ben Docking at number four, that score could have been much lower.

Docking was the only player to fire as he made his way to 46, before being caught and bowled by Jade Bennett. Greg Pearse the next best bat with 26.

Bennett took 4/35 from 12 overs with the ball for Moama, James Scambler also performed well with strong figures of 4/39.

After the home side was dismissed, Moama openers Ralph Siede and James Alcorn took to the crease and put on a 39-run partnership before the first was caught for 16.

Alcorn was sent packing soon after for 29 while Bennett, after starring with the ball, could only manage 15 with the bat at number three.

Jack Keogh (2) and Kevin Drennan (5) will be at the crease when play resumes tomorrow.

In Rochester, Rochester United look set to take the points against Echuca South.

United made 156 last week with Corey Windridge the top scorer with 29.

However, South had a horror start to its innings, losing five wickets for just 16 runs.

Keith Chalmers hit 11 of those runs, three batsmen were sent packing for ducks.

Mark Peterson (3) remains not out.

Scores from the first day of the Rochester Tigers’ match with Bunnaloo were not supplied to the Riv.

United's Jesse Cuttriss knocks one away.
