Echuca-Moama school teachers Brady Threlfall and Tarli Bird will vie for a spot in the Australian Commonwealth Games team at a meet night.
Both are competing in the Zatopek:10 at Lakeside Stadium in Melbourne.
It is a 10km race, which doubles as the Australian Championship and the Victorian Championship, while the first athlete across the line will be automatically nominated for selection for Glasgow 2014.
The 25-lap race is named after legendary Czech runner Emil Zatopek, who is the only person to have won the 5km, 10km and marathon at the same Olympics.
Bird will be in a field of 16 for her event, while Threlfall will face 25 other athletes at the starter’s pistol.
Races begin at 6pm.
