Former Echuca basketballer Jane Chalmers has re-signed with Bendigo Spirit for the 2014-15 Women’s National Basketball League season.
Standing at only 160cm tall, the Echuca resident started her WNBL career with the Spirit during the 2007-08 season and has never looked back.
Following back-to-back premierships and maintaining a fit and healthy body, Chalmers said she would be mad not to play next season.
‘‘I’ve been really lucky and haven’t had too many serious injuries,’’ she said.
‘‘I just think if my body can still do it why would I retire.’’
The WNBL season kicks off mid-October with the Spirit engaging in a grand final replay.
‘‘We will open the season with a granny re-match against Townsville,’’ Chalmers said.
‘‘Which should be interesting.’’
