Deni in Division Two final
Deniliquin's representative cricket side has qualified for the Bendigo Country Week final.
4pm: Northern District is 3/140 after 34 overs. To win, it needs to make six runs per over but with plenty of wickets in hand that could be on the cards. Brodie Bennett dismissed Brereton for 50 odd runs, while Brodie Unwin has claimed two wickets.
3pm: Opening batsman Kurt Brereton (46*) is paving the way for Northern District, which is 2/78 after 17 overs.
1pm: Andrew Hogan (75*) and Lachlan Taylor-Nugent (53) have helped steer Deniliquin to a defendable total of 7/236 after 50 overs. They had support from skipper Brad Todd (35) and Brodie Bennett (24), while Northern District’s Josh McGillivray (3-42) was the best with the ball.
12pm: With the wickets of Hillier (13) and Todd (35), Deniliquin is 3/114 after 32 overs. At the crease now is Lachlan Taylor-Nugent (26*) and Andrew Hogan (15*). Ranji Oliver, Oliver Draffin, Dean Edge and Brodie Unwin are still to bat.
11am: Deniliquin won the toss and elected to bat against Northern District. They are currently on 1/58 after 12 overs, with Brodie Bennett (24) back in the pavilion.
At the crease now are co-captains Tim Hillier and Brad Todd.
5.45am: Deniliquin District Cricket Association will take on Northern District in the Bendigo Country Week division two final tomorrow.
After beating Emu Valley, Portland and Grampians, the DDCA clinched a spot in the decider, which will be played at Eaglehawk from 10am.
Deniliquin’s only loss of the carnival so far came against Swan Hill on Wednesday.
