Kyabram will take on Shepparton Park at Hill Top in Sunday’s division one grand final of the Goulburn Valley Bowls Division season.
After defeating Hill Top by 17 shots in the first semi-final, the Kyabram team again showed its finals credentials with a fine 25-shot win over reigning premier Shepparton Golf (114-89).
Rob George’s rink were the stars on the day for Kyabram, securing a 23-shot win to set up the overall win.
George has been up among the top performing skips in the division all season and on Monday he and Greg Shilling, who has had a great season in both club and representative competitions, were named joint winners of this year’s Herb Prior Medal, Kyabram Bowls Club’s top honour.
Shepparton Park will go into the grand final as favourites, but with many of Kyabram’s players having tasted previous grand final success, the big stage is unlikely to phase them.
