The improvements made to the Kyabram Valley View Golf Club course over the past five years will be on show when the club hosts its annual tournament this weekend.
Valley View Golf Club will reintroduce its annual tournament this year — and it’s on this Friday and Saturday.
Club captain Craig Larcombe said the event had been missing from the club’s program for some years.
He said the tournament would showcase the improvements made to the course during the past five years, most notably the regeneration of the fairways.
‘‘We have made a conscious decision to raise the club’s profile through the Goulburn and Murray Valleys,’’ Mr Larcombe said.
‘‘We’re also hoping this tournament will build on the recognition the course received when it hosted the GVDGA winter pennant finals in July, where we received favourable comment about the course, despite there being some very heavy rain in the days leading up to the final.’’
Mr Larcombe said the tournament was purposefully secheduled to start this Friday to attract the golf veterans. It continues the next day and is open to members and visitors.
Overall trophies are up for grabs in two divisions of men’s and women’s stableford competitions, as well as trophies for each day.
Entry cost of $10 member and $15 non member includes lunch.
Assembly on Friday is 10.30
