Fraser Canobie in full flight for Avenel.

Broadford could be on the cusp of pinching a break on its rivals in the Seymour District Cricket Association A-grade competition after a handy first day saw it in prime position to push for an outright victory.

Seymour is hard on its heels, and will be looking to score quickly early against Eastern Hill to give it hope of the maximum points, while the games between Nagambie and Avenel and Kilmore and Alexandra are both low-scoring affairs destined to be a battle for first innings points.
