Personal bests broken at Seymour Little Aths

Club championships see some fine efforts.

More than athletes turned up for the first round of Seymour Little Athletics Club Championships.

There was certainly a noticeable change in the competition level with a huge number of personal bests broken and also quite a few Centre records.

Hayden Anderson had another good week in the under-9 boys age group, breaking two records that have been held since 2009 in the 80m hurdles and the 100m.

There was also a super effort from Will Hastie in the under-7 boys this week winning all four of his events in an age group which has 24 athletes.

The Seymour McDonald’s star of the week was awarded to Morgan Donovan from the under-9 boys.

Morgan was nominated by the group chaperone for his persistence in mastering the tricky technique of the triple jump and for determination shown each week in all of his events.

The results from the Club Championships rounds will not be posted until after presentation day on March 17. Athletes and their parents are reminded that there is no Little Aths this Friday owing to Seymour Expo.

Little Aths star of the week Morgan Donovan.
