Darts keep flying
Another great week of action in local league.
By Adam LynchRound three this week, and the great darts keep flying. Some close games were played, some big wins too. As the season continues we should see more of this.
First up this week, Avenel hosted their game against POW Rebels. Solid games all round. But Avenel was too good, winning 9-2. Big stats for the hosts. Rob Welsh two tons, Peter Lynch 100, Rick Wylie 115 and 100 and Steve Welsh 128 and a peg of 79. Rebels Tricia Stuart was in form, throwing 140, 120, 107 and 101, Teresa Reid 134, Karen Claric 117 and Kelly Stuart 100.
Dart Knights went over to play off against Royal Rascals and came away with a 6-5 victory. Highlights for the night for Dart Knights Steve Blades threw two tons, Phil Kaja two tons and a 62 peg, Tania Hunt 109 and Emily Hunt 123 and 118. Rascals Stuart Crockett threw 120, Brendon Rogers 152, 125 and 100 and Shane Turner 140, 100 and 99 peg.
Broadford Mustangs and Term 69ers met with some serious darts thrown by both sides and it came right down to the last singles match. Broadford came away with the win 6-5. Mustangs highlights Peter Myles threw two 125s, 115 and 100, Tina Fountain 100, Bruce Cunningham two 140s, 121, 120 and two tons, Mark Fountain 100 and Emily Spiteri 125. Term 69ers highlights Tom Lanyon 108, Steve Raynor 125, 120, 110 and three tons, Daniel Raynor 140, 120, 105 and 100, Collin Mankey 116, 100 and an 87 peg and Ann Kilroy 106.
POW Alcos hosted Royal Underdogs, the Alcos coming away with a big 11-0 win. Alcos big scores were Peter Brasher with three tons, Paul Rolfe 115 and Brent Dixon two tons and a high peg of 50. Underdogs Mel Blades with a single ton for the night.
Last up was another close 6-5 game, Broadford Redbacks coming away the victor against Vipers. Redbacks highlights David Wilson 125 and 100, Trevor Gravell 140 and 100 and Rod Cameron 124 and 102. Vipers scores Darren Sielaff 116 and 100 and Adam Lynch threw five tons.

Frustration abounds in Pigeons win
