Sempai Chloe Woolcock and eight of her students competed at the Riverina Martial Arts Inter-Dojo Tournament held in Wodonga on Sunday, November 24.
For seven of these students it was their first time competing in the Kumite (fighting) and Kata (prearranged patterns) sections.
This particular tournament is a great introduction to new competitors to get a taste of what it is like at bigger tournaments.
Abby Ogden placed third in the seven years and under Kata section, while Simon Hall placed third and John Hedt placed second in the Adults 10th Kyu — fifth Kata Section.
Woolcock placed second in the adults open combined Kata and first place in the adults open combined Kumite.
All the students did a fantastic job, and should all be happy with their performances on the day as it takes a lot of courage to step foot onto the mat.
