Benalla’s Adult Riding Club members excelled at the Horse Riding Club Association Victoria Top Teams Trophy showjumping competition earlier this month.
The annual event sees clubs enter teams of four, with the prize of hosting the following year’s event on offer to the overall winning team.
This year’s event had about 400 competitors, and 100 teams competing.
Benalla team ‘Lets Have Fun’, consisting of Jaime-lee Hill, Jo Stevens, Leanne Hausner placed 18th, while Emily King, Jackie Gee and Jenny Daws placed 55th in the Three Musketeers/composite team.
Three Gens and a King members Sally Hanrahan, Bec Hanrahan, Brenda Bamford and Sylvia King placed 74th.
Hill placed first overall individually in level one, with two first places and one second place.
‘‘Pretty much everybody came home with a ribbon,’’ Hill said of the Benalla riders.
Benalla won the teams competition overall two years ago.
