Fatal accident near Mulwala

Police have confirmed a Mulwala woman, 44, died following an accident on Spring Drive, near the Bull Plain Road turn-off, yesterday afternoon.

Emergency services were called the intersection around 3pm after a utility and a truck collided. 

Spring Drive was closed to traffic in both directions for several hours and an air ambulance helicopter landed at the accident scene.

The driver and sole occupant of the utility, a 44-year-old woman, was freed from the vehicle but died en route to the hospital.

The truck driver, a 35-year-old man, wasn’t injured but was taken to hospital to undergo mandatory blood and urine testing.

Police from Albury Local Area Command are investigating the circumstances surrounding the crash.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
