Tatura Easter Cup action

Big prizes will be up for grabs as part of the Tatura Easter Cup on March 30.

Thousands of dollars worth of prizes will be won by families joining in the action on Tatura Easter Cup on Saturday, March 30.

Tatura and Shepparton Racing Club chief executive Desiree Pettit said as well as a top card of racing, including the $50000 Tatura Easter Cup and Mark Goring Memorial, a $1000 prize pack and two $2400 Britz family holidays were up for grabs on race day.

‘‘Included in the free kids’ activities from Kelly Sports, such as rock climbing, crazy cricket and sumo suits, the feature is a $1000 ‘Golden Easter Egg’ hunt, where one lucky hunter will win their family a prize pack worth $1000 by finding the golden egg in the trackside Easter egg hunt,’’ she said.

Entrants must be registered and can do so on the day or at the website countryracing.com.au

Ms Pettit said two families who booked an umbrella or marquee package for Tatura Cup Day would also walk away with a Britz Campervan family holiday valued at more than $2400.

She said winners would be announced in April and must book their package through tatura.countryracing.com.au or through the club to be eligible.

A catalogue of packages is available on the club’s Facebook page, and all inclusions are also listed on the Country Racing website.

Ms Pettit said Fashions on the Field would also include a Young Racegoer category for entrants 17 and under with prizes from Dash Clothing and Collins Booksellers.

Registrations for all Fashions on the Field categories will open soon and forms will be available on the club’s Facebook page.

See Black Caviar

Tatura and Shepparton Racing Club will run a coach to the William Reid Stakes meeting at Moonee Valley Friday, March 22, to witness what may well be the last time the champion mare races in Victoria. Black Caviar will also be aiming for her record 24th straight win in the stakes, the final race on the card.

Tatura and Shepparton Racing Club chief executive Desiree Pettit said guests of the club would enjoy an airconditioned coach ride to Moonee Valley, entry and racebook for their $85 ticket, as well as getting into the spirit of the occasion with competitions and prizes throughout the trip to Melbourne.

‘‘Departing from Shepparton at about 3pm, guests are encouraged to dress in a Black Caviar theme for the Group 1 William Reid Stakes race at 9.45pm,’’ she said.

Event details and a booking form can be found on the club’s Facebook page or by contacting the secretary’s office on taturashepparton@countryracing.com.au or by phoning 0417000835.
