Tatura Bakery win award

Management and staff at Tatura Bakery and Lunches are ‘over the moon’ following their success at the Bakery Associations of Australia Easter in the Fruit Bowl Awards held at Goulburn Ovens TAFE in Shepparton on February 23-24.

Deborah Russell, who has owned and run the popular Hogan St eatery for nearly three years, said this was the first time she had entered the awards, and possibly the first time the bakery had entered in some time.

‘‘To win first prize for our white loaf and third prize for our Pane Di Casa (a bread), was truly amazing,’’ she said.

Tatura Bakery and Lunches baker Adam Bertolli was equally thrilled. ‘‘It is a very exciting time for the bakery,’’ he said.

Ms Russell said Adam had done a wonderful job.

‘‘It really was a staff effort,’’ she added.

NSW and Victorian judges selected winners from 300 entries from 99 bakeries across Australia.
