A new Christmas decorations project began yesterday in Tatura to bring some early cheer to the town.By Robert Nicol
The Tatura Christmas Decoration Project went on display at the Tatura Hotel yesterday and today, with two sessions each day.
Spokesperson Marli Kelly said the idea of displaying items, was to give the public, businesses and interested community groups the opportunity to view the selection of recycled, upcycled and home-made decorations and discuss the project.
‘‘We had a terrific turn up for the launch on Monday. It was fantastic,’’ she said.
‘‘We had such a terrific launch at the Hotel with residents from Moyola, Hogan St traders, Men’s Shed members, Greater Shepparton City Council Mayor Jenny Houlihan and art committee members.
‘‘The Mayor was very impressed and tweeted a photo of the decorations to her twitter followers.’’
Ms Kelly said the Moyola ladies had a wonderful time, and even some people who had just shifted to Tatura, decided to pop in.
‘‘A huge thank you to our stylists who decorated the room on Sunday, Anne Oliver, Deborah Vincitorio, Rhonda Vincitorio, Marilyn Popplestone and Sharon McCarthy,’’ Ms Kelly, who was also involved in the decorating, said.
