100 Lap Challenge is on again
This year’s 100 Lap Challenge to raise funds for the Tatura Hospital and Parkvilla Nursing Home will take place at Tatura Swimming Pool on Saturday, March 3.
The event originated many years ago from a bet in the pub about who could swim 100 laps and each swimmer taking part is expected to raise $100 in sponsorship.
There are no costs involved in staging the event and all funds go directly to the hospital and nursing home.
Last year 37 swimmers took part, raising about $2500 which was put towards the purchase of a new low electric bed.
Nurse manager Jayne French has said funds from this year’s event will be directed towards a new oxygen concentrator. Anyone who would like to participate can phone Geoff Lipshut on 5824 1806 (AH) or 5824 0300 (BH), or Gary Whyte on 5824 1461.
