Van lit on fire in Benalla

Benalla police are seeking information after a blue Kia Carnival van was engulfed in flames about 9.15pm on Tuesday.

The van was parked at a private address on Gaskin St, Benalla, when it was set on fire.

Country Fire Authority members extinguished the flames and a crime scene was established. CFA fire investigators and police detectives deemed the fire was deliberately lit.

Benalla police Criminal Investigation Unit has started inquiries into the incident.

Police are appealing for any witnesses or anyone who might have any information about the incident to phone Crime Stoppers on 1800333000 or Benalla police on 57600240.
