Taking aim: Firefighters took about 15 minutes to extinguish a blaze at a vacant Shepparton East home on Hanlon Rd yesterday.
Shepparton Country Fire Authority member Leigh Allan said firefighters received the call just before noon.
He said about half the house was on fire when they arrived and it took about 15 minutes to extinguish.
Two tankers from Shepparton and one each from Shepparton East and Kialla attended.
Mr Allan said the house had been used to accommodate fruitpickers, but had been abandoned for several months when the fire occurred.
He said the cause of the fire was yet to be determined.
