Kaarimba property owner finds herself powerless because of the wild weather.By Alexandra Bolkas
Emma Mullan said it was eerily still after a forceful wind gust blew down her powerline and felled trees lining her Kaarimba property yesterday morning.
The Xtreme Quarter Horses owner said she was up until 3
But about 8
‘‘It would of lasted about five minutes, trees fell down on my fences and my powerline has come down,’’ Mrs Mullan said.
‘‘The powerline was just swinging and zapping, it was hanging over the water tank.’’
She said her cows, stallions and young horses had to be moved from their paddocks.
Mrs Mullan said the wind gusts had uprooted the trees lining Sandilands Rd and neighbours with tractors had to remove them before State Emergency Service members could access the road and tend to her live powerline.
She said she had been left without power and no indication of when it would return.
‘‘The black boxes on the electricity pole were just hanging there and sparks were flying everywhere,’’ she said.
‘‘Power is my only issue; out here you need power to get water, for the freezer for everything.
‘‘We can’t do anything without power.’’
Neighbour Barry Hinchcliffe of Ascot Park said he left to go down to his pump about 8

‘‘It was a big wolf of wind that took it out; it happened very quickly.’’
He said he spent the morning removing trees from his road with his tractor.
