Join The News' campaign to lobby federal ministers to support SPC Ardmona with a co-investment package.January 16, 2014 2:21pm
Goulburn Valley residents will be able to lobby federal ministers to support SPC Ardmona before Cabinet decides whether it will help the embattled company.
Today, The News has launched a tool on its website allowing visitors to send an open letter to Cabinet members expressing support for the Goulburn Valley fruit processor.
SPC Ardmona is seeking $25 million each from the Federal and Victorian governments as part of a co-investment package - if successful, SPC Ardmona would contribute $90 million to the plan.
Cabinet ministers are expected to meet by the end of the month to discuss the proposal.

I am writing asking you to support northern Victorian food processor SPC Ardmona.
SPC Ardmona is seeking $25 million from the Federal Government to innovate and secure its presence here in the Goulburn Valley.
That investment could secure thousands of jobs in our region.
That’s jobs in manufacturing and agriculture, with flow-on effects to all sectors of the economy.
Our region suffers from above average unemployment and has already been hit by SPC Ardmona’s decision to cut fruit quotas in April last year.
This isn’t a handout.
This is investment that will allow an iconic company to compete against the backdrop of a high Aussie dollar and cheap imports.
When Cabinet meets to discuss this matter I urge you to support our community.
