Shepparton assault information wanted

Police are asking for information after a teenager was allegedly assaulted in Shepparton this month.

Shepparton police Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team Detective Senior Constable Wade Spokes said the female, 18, was walking along the bicycle track next to Lincoln Dve, Shepparton on Monday, June 9, about 2.15pm when a male allegedly approached from behind and assaulted her.

She was able to run from the scene and was not badly hurt, and did not require treatment.

The male was not known to her.

A male, 17, has been charged and bailed to appear at a children’s court.

Anyone with information or who saw suspicious behavior in the area at the time can phone the Shepparton police Sexual Offence and Child Abuse Investigation Team on 58205873.
