Emergency services are on scene of a crash on the Hume Fwy, near Northwood Rd, Seymour. One male has died. Road closures in place.
UPDATE, 2.26pm: A police spokesperson has confirmed that one male has died following a crash near Seymour just after 1pm.
The driver of the vehicle lost control of the car and crashed into a tree.
He died at the scene.
The exact circumstances surrounding the crash are still to be confirmed including whether police were in pursuit of the vehicle at the time.
1.46pm: Seymour Police have advised the Hume Fwy is closed southbound from the Goulburn Valley interchange, to the Puckapunyal interchange following a serious crash on the Hume Fwy, near Seymour.
Any traffic heading south will be diverted through the town of Seymour.
Police advise to avoid the area.
