There's a big cash prize on offer in the Metricon 2013 $10,000 Goulburn Valley Football League Footy Tipping competition. Registrations are now open.
Do you reckon you’re the Goulburn Valley Football League’s top tipster?
Would you like the chance to test your skills and win a huge $10
If the answer is yes, The News is urging you to enter the Metricon 2013 $10
News editor Kristin Favaloro said while there were many AFL tipping competitions around offering big prizes, this was something special for the Goulburn Valley’s footy experts.
‘‘We know how much local footy means to our community, so we’re hoping people get excited about our competition,’’ Ms Favaloro said.
‘‘Our sports editor Marc McGowan reckons this year’s GVFL will be hotly contested, so the competition certainly won’t be easy.’’
Mr McGowan said his early tip for premier was Shepparton United.
‘‘United has had a lot of past success, they still have their coach Marc Quarrell and they’ve picked up some good recruits,’’ Mr McGowan said.
Metricon regional north general manager Brian Murphy said the housing company came on board because it was committed to Goulburn Valley communities.
‘‘Metricon has a significant presence in the Goulburn Valley with many current and past home customers,’’ Mr Murphy said.
‘‘Our regional head office is based in Shepparton and many staff are involved as players and supporters of clubs in the league. This is in line with our commitment to the Goulburn Valley community as was our GV Health oncology fundraising home.’’
To be in the running, you just have to tip the sides you believe will win every week before each game to accumulate points.
Entries open at 9
During the season, The News will be running weekly leader updates, so our readers know how close — or open — the tipping competition is.
