Police investigate suspicious car fire in Shepparton

A car was gutted after allegedly being set alight near Reedy Swamp in Shepparton.

A car was set alight near Reedy Swamp yesterday.

Shepparton police Crime Investigation Unit are investigating an incident where a car was set alight in grassland in Shepparton yesterday.

Shepparton police Sergeant Michelle De Araugo said the Golf Dve fire appeared to be suspicious.

A CFA spokeswoman said four Country Fire Authority tankers from Shepparton, Mooroopna and Tallygaroopna attended the fire just before 8am. She said the fire was under control by 8.23am.

One unit from Department of Environment and Primary Industries also attended.
