Nov 1967: The magic of girdles
An ad from a November 1967 edition of The News espouses the benefits of looking 5 lb. lighter with a girdle.
A new Playtex "magic control girdle" was set to be the saviour of women in November 1967.

And the best part? It dries in a "jiffy" and was worth only $7.95!
