The soccer season may be over for a bunch of sport-loving boys, but they are already counting down the days until next season.
The group played soccer for St Luke Catholic Primary School’s under-10 team.
Billy Browne, 10, said he had been playing soccer for more than four years and was a big fan of the sport.
‘‘It’s just the fun of playing with my friends and the skill of it,’’ he said.
Billy said he had mastered the rainbow flick — a trick using your heel to flick the ball up — which he said was difficult to learn.
Adam Bourat, 9, said although he was not really practising any special soccer tricks, he had been playing the sport for more than four years.
‘‘I like playing with my friends and having a shot at goals,’’ he said.
Adam said he would hopefully continue to play.
Lachlan Logue, 9, said he followed his older brother and sister into the sport and had been playing for five years — more than half his life.
‘‘I like running with the ball and passing to teammates and defending,’’ Lachlan said.
Josh Latorre said his favourite thing about soccer was kicking goals and he was proud of the fact he scored 11 goals this season.
Josh, 9, said he had been playing the sport for four years and joined up because his friends were playing.
