Waranga Film Festival Committee president Les Pelle shows off the 35 mm projector to be used at this weekend's festival.

Movie buffs wishing to escape the cold need look no further than the Waranga Winter Film Festival this weekend.

Movies will be shown on an old 35mm projector from the former Shepparton Drive-In that shut down in 2005.

Film festival organiser Louise Pelle said the event was as much about celebrating community as it was about watching a good movie.

Festival schedule:

Today, 6.30pm: Fargo (M)

Tomorrow, 5pm: Kung Fu Hustle (M)

Tomorrow, 8pm: The Blues Brothers (PG-13)

Sunday, 2pm: Life is Beautiful (M)

Tickets are available at the door costing $7 for adults, $5 for children, pensioners and concession or $25 full fee or $20 concession season pass.

For more information, visit the Waranga Winter Film Festival Facebook page or phone Les on 0456529248 or Louise on 0437153203.
