He wasn’t supposed to visit until Christmas Eve, but Santa Claus made a surprise appearance at yesterday’s Carols in the Park at Mooroopna.

The jolly man in red’s presence at the festivities wasn’t the only thing that put a smile on attendees’ faces.

Belting out carols such as Jingle Bells were musicians Reg Poole, Donald Campbell and the Turaton Music Company.

There was also a barbecue of sausages and hamburgers to help carollers keep their stamina as they sung well into the night.

The Kiwanis Club of Mooroopna has run Carols in the Park for 35 years.
