Scene: Police found a man’s body in water near Nagambie's River St Reserve yesterday.

Seymour police Acting Sergeant Michelle Mason said a passer-by alerted authorities to the body shortly after 8am.

She said the death was not being treated as suspicious.

Sgt Mason said the male appeared to be in his 50s, but the body was yet to be formally identified.

‘‘It appears the man had been in the water for several hours,’’ Sgt Mason said.

She said fishing equipment was found near the bank.
