Police have located the body of a man who went missing while swimming at Moama Beach Saturday night.

Emergency services were called to the beach at about 6.30pm on Saturday after concern was raised.

The man, 27, was last seen swimming under the Echuca-Moama Bridge, but failed to surface and could not be found.

Deniliquin Local Area Command police conducted an extensive land and water search for the man, but failed to locate him.

The search resumed yesterday morning, with NSW police assisted by Victorian police — including divers, Roads and Maritime Services, SES and Marine Rescue.

At about 10.10am the man’s body was found downstream from where he was last seen.

A report will be prepared for the Coroner.
