UPDATE: 9.11am: Shepparton-Katamatite Rd is expected to remain closed until mid-morning today. All heavy vehicles are advised to use the Goulburn Valley Hwy and Murray Valley Hwy. There is no access between Katamatite to Shepparton or Numurkah for heavy vehicles. Local traffic only in this area.
A male and a child have died at the scene of a car crash on Shepparton-Katamatite Rd, near Katamatite this afternoon.
A male is still trapped, and another male is being treated at the scene.
Police and paramedics are on scene.
Both lanes of Shepparton-Katamatite Rd are closed between Katamatite-Nathalia Rd and Benalla-Tocumwal Rd and drivers are advised to seek alternate routes.
Multiple vehciles are involved in the incident - exact details are unconfirmed at this stage.
An air ambulance has just landed at the scene.
