Kialla home damaged in fire

A fire that originated at a stove top caused heat damage to the kitchen and roof space of a house in Kialla.

Firefighters took to the roof to extinguish a blaze in Kialla.

A 17-year-old Shepparton man was uninjured when a fire erupted at his Forest Dve, Kialla home on Sunday at 1.45pm.

Shepparton police Senior Station Officer Steve Contessa said the fire started at the stove top and travelled through the roof space.

He said there was some heat damage to the kitchen and roof space.

Four units from Shepparton and Mooroopna Country Fire Authority were called to the fire.

It took firefighters 15 minutes to control the blaze.
