Former Shepparton girl and cystic fibrosis sufferer Alex Parker has organised a social media "thunderclap" for 6pm tonight to show support for the drug Kalydeco to be added to the PBS. Find out how you can help here.
A former Shepparton girl is at the head of a new campaign that will send a "thunderclap" of social media support for the life-saving cystic fibrosis drug Kalydeco at 6pm tonight.
Alex Parker has been campaigning for Kalydeco to be funded by the Australian Government after it helped improve her quality of life.
Without support from the government, the drug costs $300,000 per patient each year. The Pharmaceutical Benefits Scheme has deferred the Kalydeco funding application, potentially for another year.
The #YesToKalydeco "thunderclap" is set to take place at 6pm and is simple for anyone to join. Follow this link and click which social media networks you would like to show your support on.
Your message will be saved and automatically sent out on your profiles at 6pm tonight with the hashtag #YesToKalydeco.
