All the students at Grahamvale Primary School were involved in school musical productions recently.By Alexandra Bolkas
Grahamvale Primary School put on a whole-school musical spectacular at Eastbank Centre last week.
Prep to Year 2 students performed The Puzzle Crusade written and choreographed by music and drama teacher Jacqui Pithie.
The play was based on Indiana Jones and included characters such as Bindi Irwin and Miss Moneypenny from the James Bond series.
Years 3 to 6 performed Plum Problem, also written by Ms Pithie, which centered around characters Jack, Bo Peep and Dr Frizzell, a comical take on the school’s principal.
‘‘The kids stepped it up; there were lots of smiles and two full houses,’’ Ms Pithie said.
She said the crowd enjoyed the musical numbers that included Guy Sebastian songs.
Ms Pithie said she tried hard to include all students in the speaking roles.
‘‘We give them cameo parts to help develop confidence in the kids; even if it’s just one line they’re so pumped, it’s a really big deal,’’ she said.
Anxious Year 12 students will be able to access advice and guidance via a live Facebook chat just hours after receiving their VCE results.
