Girl, 13, injured after car hits her

A teenage girl was taken to hospital with a suspected broken leg on Sunday night after a car hit her in Shepparton, a police officer says.

Shepparton police Acting Sergeant Paul Shortis said a car was driving east on Wilmot Rd just before 7.30pm when it struck a girl, 13.

An ambulance took her to Goulburn Valley Base Hospital with a suspected broken leg.

Acting Sgt Shortis said no penalty notices had been issued and police were continuing to investigate the incident.
