Floodwaters inundate Shepparton streets

Shepparton streets have been inundated with floodwaters after torrential downpours. The rain is predicted to continue overnight.

UPDATE, 8.57pm:

Shepparton Airport has now recieved 46mm since 9am, Tatura 31mm and Kyabram 25mm.

8.38pm: Hundreds of Shepparton streets have been inundated by floodwaters after torrential downpours this afternoon.

Since 9am Shepparton Airport had recorded 27mm of rain by 8.30pm according to the Bureau of Meteorology, with 31mm for Tatura and 25mm for Kyabram in the same time period.

Heavy rain was predicted to continue overnight.

In tomorrow’s paper we speak to local businesses inundated by water, the State Emergency Service and Bureau of Meteorology about what’s predicted in coming days.
