A Benalla man appeared at Shepparton Magistrates' Court following a firearms incident overnight.
UPDATE, 4.53pm: A Benalla man accused of firing six rounds into two Benalla properties last night has been charged with two counts each of conduct endangering life, conduct endangering a person, damaging property with a firearm, and using a firearm in a town/populace place.
Matthew James Lynch did not apply for bail when he appeared in Shepparton Magistrates’ Court today.
He was remanded in custody to appear at Benalla Magistrates’ Court on September 3.

10.12am: Police have arrested a man following a firearms incident in Benalla last night.
Police were called in relation to a number of shots being fired at a property on Bridge Street just before 11pm.
A police unit en route to the incident sighted a vehicle being driven with a man holding a firearm inside the vehicle.
A low speed pursuit was then conducted.
The vehicle was intercepted at Benalla cemetery and a 29-year-old Benalla man was taken into custody without incident.
The firearm was also seized.
Police believe shots may have been fired at a number of other locations in the area last night.
